So today my caviar black seems to have malfunctioned.
Windows will not let me access the drive, it asks "would you like to format", reports as RAW filesystem.
Windows keeps running CHKDSK at bootup and reports 4 bad file sectors.
I downloaded the WD Diagnostics tool, here are the results:
The Hard Drive is still under warranty, until 2014 according to WD's warranty checker. I can access the contents of the HDD from my OSX machine, just got nowhere to back it up to yet.
What are the procedures? Can i claim for RMA under these grounds?
