WD10EARS-22Y5B1-------Can't select the partitions to align

Hi all: I just bought a WD disk of 1TB as my second disk, when I run wd align in xp sp3 wanting to align the new wd disk partitions, which are formated in win7 (I install multiple os, including xp and win7), the checkbox in the front of partitions can't be choosed, seems like because the partitions have been aligned , why is that? Clearly the copying file is far slower in xp than in win7. For a copying of file of 3.7GB, it takes 30s in win7 but more than 1 min in xp. thanks.
