riconoscimento all'avvio di XP

salve a tutti! ho un WD passport essential 3.0, come sistema operativo uso XP. l'HD viene regolarmente riconosciuto se lo attacco a pc acceso, mentre se l'unità è già collegata all'avvio di windows, non viene nemmeno vista da gestione periferiche, costringendomi ogni volta ad un "stacca e riattacca".....qualche consiglio?! grazie!

no mi da problemi solo con xp! su vista e 7 il riconoscimento avviene!
