Improper disc ejection

My drive was inadvertently unplugged from my MacBook Pro without being properly ejected.  It now will not power on and the icon does not show up on my desktop.  I went into the drive utilities and it does not show up there either.  How do I fix this?  Thank you!

Bad luck :smileyfrustrated:, you can try to use another cable, but  if it doesn't show on the disk utility it usually means that you need to replace it.
