WD Elements 1TB HDD

I do not have access to any options page which would enable me to change the backup settings on my 1TB Elements desktop, eg, the timing of backups.  The HDD is backing up but I have no input to control the beast. Can anyone out there help with this please?

Are you using Time Machine for your backups?  If so, you won't have much control over the "beast."  Once it does its full backup, it will do hourly backups.
