3 years old WD Essential USB 2.0 failed to start

Hi all,

Referring to the above subject, I realized that for some unknown reason my external drive wouldn't start this morning. It's just like any other day when I woke up only to find that my computer could not detect the external drive. After some checks I realized that external drive did not show its LED lights. I tried removing the power cord and replugging it but it just woulnd't power up. The only indication it showed was that it blinked 3 times. That's it...

Has anyone here encountered this before? Any remedy for it?

The power cord might have gone bad. Try calling tech support to see if you can get a replacement.
