'Application not started from drive' whilst trying to put smartware back onto My Book [ Edited ]

I know a lot of people are trying to get rid of smartware, im trying to get it back.

i had the problem with the WDFME.exe so reinstalled the software.

After this, smartware stopped recognising that the files already on the drive were from my computer.

So i tryed to format the drive using the erase button in the software, this came up with an error and the drive was no longer detected, After i got it detected again i quick formatted using windows and tryed to put smartware back onto the drive from the download from the website.

When click on WD Smartware.exe it comes up with the error 'Application not started from drive' even though it is on the drive.

I think i have the latest firmware and SES driver but i dont know what to do next.

Make sure you have downloaded and extracted the Smartware Disc Image

Update the Firmware and run the installation again

Yeah i already did that.

I've solved the problem now, all i did was download the software updater and ran it, even though i didn't have the software installed in the first place, which is why i never thought about doing it.
