Is My Passport making my computer slow when it is connected?

Do I need to have My Passport connected to my computer all the time?  Since I have had My Passport, my computer has become very slow.

No you don't, just remember to always safely eject it first.

Thank you for your answer.  I had it connected all the time and it has made my computer very slow.  I do use the safety eject.
