My Book 1130 suddenly not recognized

I have a WD My Book 1130 that was working fine.  I had it disconnected, and when I tried to plug it in and use it my system hung up.  The drivers will not load, the drive doesn't show up in Disk Management.  I have tried everything to get this drive to come on line.  The next step is to send it back to WD since it is still under warranty.  But I don't want to send it back with data on it.  Any suggestions on how I can get this drive to work, or how I can make sure my data isn't recoverable before I return the drive to WD?

Re: My Book 1130 suddenly not recognized

Check if the My Book is at least recognized by DLG so you can write zeros to it.
