My Book Not Showing Up In My Computer.

I've had this My Book for a few years and it is 80-90% full of various types of files and was working wonderfully until this morning.

I rebooted the computer for an unrelated reason and now the external hard drive will not show up in My Computer. All it does is flash the bottom light and a padlock light directly above that lowest light. On and off, on and off for ages then sometimes it will stay om for a second and then resume flashing on and off, on and off.

I have never set a password. I have tried disconnecting the power and the USB cable numerous times. I have tried Googling for hours and have come up with nothing.

Please help me gain access to my files. Thanks.

Does the drive show in Disk Management? Look down by the bars does it say anything like Raw?

Does the drive have a drive letter and is it online?

Yes (K). It's difficult to make it show up there though. You have to start Disk Management first and then plug the USB cable in. Doing it the other way makes Disk management freeze.

I am running Win7 on a reasonably powerful machine.
