My Passport software will not open in restored "c" drive.

I had to resort to the restore cd for my laptop.  Now I am starting over with the laptop.   I plug the "My Passport" external drive in, and basically I can unlock it, but it doesn't proceed any further .  I am trying to reload the backed up data back on to the laptop.    Any suggestions?

If you used software like the Smartware you will have to reinstall it. Try changing the folder view to show hidden files. Sometines with Smartwae you also have to run a backup  http://community.wdc.com/t5/My-Book-for-PC/data-restore/m-p/161586/highlight/true#M5703 see post 2
