Subtitles on DLNA server (new firmware)

Hi

With the current firmware, theoretically, should it be possible to show subtitles with MKV files? I also use AllShare together with my Samsung SmartTV and there, the subtitle file has to be in the same folder (.srt file) and works like a charm.

Regards

Michael

The release notes don't show any info about that

The current DLNA standards are limited on subititle support (correct me please if I am wrong). We support subtitles stored in external files in the following file format types .SRT, .SSA, .SUB and .**bleep**

Let me know if those work.

Re: Subtitles on DLNA server (new firmware)

I've latest firmware version and subtitles are not available on Samsung TVs E-series and D-series. I have the DivX .avi file and same name .srt file in the same folder and I don't see any subtitles.

The same file with subtitles works fine on AllShare Samsung server installed on the PC as well as on the Seagate GoFlex Network drive. Looks like this Twonky DLNA server doesn't support subtitle streaming.
