New private shares with admin rights.

Hello

new My Book Live (current firmware).

Windows 7

Perhaps my thinking is wrong but if I create a new private share and assign admin rights to it why do I not see it in my already mapped network drive?  If I access through Network sharing there it is at the same level as the public shares.  it seems I now have to map a new network drive to my new private share. Is this correct? could get messy if this is the way.

How does win 7 know I am the admin...I haven't entered a password anywhere yet....

thanks

Re: New private shares with admin rights.

Yes, that's correct.

Each share must be mapped to your PC individually.  That's what shares are.  :smileywink:

It will LIST the share, but if you attempt to open it, it should ask you for the User ID and password.
