Using more than one My Book Live in a Network?

Can I use more than one My Book Live in a single network?  I love it because the tranfer rate from my PCs to the Book is so fast, and the streaming from the Book to my WD Live Hub is flawless.

Thanks in advance.

Yes - you can use as many as you want in the network. You should rename the devices so you can distinugish them from each other. The default name is MyBookLive.

Re: Using more than one My Book Live in a Network?

I'm also thinking about getting another one. I'd like to have one for my media (music, photos, video), and one to be used strictly for PC backup. The problem is that once I do that, I'm approaching the cost of the Windows Home Server I just dismantled. What a dilemma! But yeah, I was thinking that if I distinguish them by name, then they could both peacefully coexist on the network. Has anybody already done this?

Of course!! I have several My Book Live's at home. I use one strickly as a backup  using the new Safepoint feature). So I have one 3TB My Book Live as my primary media library, then I have another 3TB drive sitting next to it - benefits of working here :smileyhappy:

I setup a safepoint schedule to automatically update the safepoint at 1AM every day. So if I add any new content to the primary drive, it will automatically get updated on the backup.

Sweet. :smileyhappy: This is exactly what I was hoping for. After getting my MBL 3TB to accept the new firmware update, it's performing flawlessly with my iMac and the Boxee Box in my entertainment center. This would allow me to add another 1-3 down the line, hooked up through a gigbit switch/airport extreme.
