Re: How do you set up 3 Livewires ?

Easiest way... Follow the steps below.

NOTE - You should do this with all four of the Livewires.

  1. Plug in all Livewire devices in the same room (where the router is).
  2. Power on the Livewire devices.
  3. Press the sync button the devices.  All the sync buttons should be pressed within 2 minutes.
  4. The PLC Link light should be green for all the devices.
  5. Connect one Livewire to one of the ports of your router.
  6. Disconnect the other Livewire devices and place them in their appropriate rooms.
  7. Verified the Power and PLC Link lights are green.
  8. Connect your devices (WDTV Live Hub, computer, AVR, etc...) to the Livewire device.
  9. You are now wired up.

The reason why you should do this with all four Livewire devices is because its simplier to press the sync button now, rather than run room to room to press the sync button on the devices later.   And its also a lot better than typing in the "password" to add a Livewire.  The password is a 16 character code on the bottom of the device.

that has to be the most usless answer I've run across yet.  I don't think that even Mohan from New Delhi would toss that one out.

You weren't the one to ask any question, you're not the one to judge the answer.

The answer was perfectly reasonable and appropirate.
