Provide support for backing up the IPAD and Android devices, so we can restore the contents when a device is purchased.

Thanks for the suggestion. If you copy your complete iTunes library to the NAS and run iTunes from the NAS, this will allow you to accomplish what you are looking for. Also, iCloud basically does this same thing (on iOS).
