New Idea

Dear WD team,

for the next firmware release, I would like to request a simple improvement of the iTunes server / Twonky software:

Please let users choose arbitrary folders in ANY share they wish to place the files that these media servers publish.

Right now, you force the users to place these files into "Public" - but not everyone wants to place the media files there.

What do you think?

Thanks

Matt

I believe that what you are asking for already exists. You can create a share and specify media sharing for that Share.

Remote map of network drive as local

possiblity to map My book Live as a local drive on the pc over the internet using WD 2go.
It should be a desktop application for this and so it should be planned to be released in the future!
such function is provided by buffalo cloudstor (pogoplug)

In WD2go.com website

For the users that registered to the MyBookLive device as the remote access with their email, but oneday they cannot access to the registered device with some reasons like:  device was full or quick factory restore (and users forgot to unregister the email from the remote access)

The device that restored will show off-line in the device page and users cannot do anything with it.

At least, user should able remove the device they sure they don't need forever.  Why they will need to see the device they cannot use.  Else, the error device will be shown in the device list as the monument of the memorial that users can do by just looking at it.

This capability has been added to the latest version of WD2go.

NFS Support for MyBookLive

I would like to have NFS support in MyBookLive. NFS4 is preferred.

So why do I want to have that? Because I have a Linux Workstation and some "other" PCs. NFS is native for my box as well as for the Linux running on MyBookLive. More speed. File attributes. File types.

The other options for me are slower or more expensive NAS boxes. With more power consumption.

Or I build my own server. Which is more expensive and has more power consumption, too.

What do you think?

Status: Implemented
NFS support is already in the My Book Live. The path to the NFS share on the My Book Live is mybooklive:/nfs/[share name]. For example, if your unit still has the default device name the path to the Public share would be “mybooklive:/nfs/Public”. Note also that NFS access is only available for public shares. Private shares requiring a username and password are accessible on the My Book Live using NFS.

I would really like to have the ability to DISABLE Twonky server, via the GUI.

Status: Implemented
You have to enable Twonky to even use it. Unclick "Enable" and you turn of Twonky.
