Crashing my laptop

Ok when i plug the hard drive into my laptop it crashes the laptop. if i try to open something on the laptop like my computer with it pluged in then it will crash tell me to close it then all of the icon on the laptop go off and dont come on again, however at this point if i remove the hard drive everything goes back to normal. if i start the laptop up with it pluged in then it simply doesnt load.

 

help please

Ok, if possible reformat your drive and reconnect it to your computer. Also if possible connect the drive into another computer...
