Hi, I was connecting my Elements 500GB USB drive to the pc to back up my system and then I couldn't find it at all. In disk manager it says it's not allocated.
Ashampoo's HDD Control 2 says following:

Modell=WD Elements 1023 USB Device ;
Size=500 GB ; SN=WD-WX**********3]
USB-Bridge chip: Vendor ID = $1058 ;

The weird thing is that i can't give it any partition letter or adress. I can't do a squat in disk manager!!!! Not even repair the ntfs-library that i think is the problem here. Or has it just deleted it self?
EDIT!: I didn't notice that my formation got screwed up last post. Sorry for that.

That's an easy to read post you got there
. Check if using DLG allows you to write zeros and then try to format it again.

Is the drive unallocated in Disk Management? Can you post a screenshot of your Disk Management screen?

>Awopero:
Why should I post a screen of it when i can't do ANYTHING in it? Im not a novice in that case
But i will upload some screens just to clearify.
Write protected disk
Greyed out options. Can't initialize it or anything such.

The partition appears to be to messed up to allow anything
try a different cable or different application to erase the drive
if no go.. you know what to do

Im thinking of testing some other cables and USB-ports this week. If that doesn't do it i always could use my warranty and send it to RMA.
