No Acces to Drive on Windows 7 64 Bit

Hi i have  a 1Tb My Book Essential External Hd it works on a desktop Windows Xp Pro computer and on my Laptop Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit. However if i plug it in to my other Desktop Windows 7 Pro 64 bit it wont work funny thing is operating system is the same as the laptop, there it works perfectly.On the desktop 64 bit it only opens the installation folder but you can't access any data on it or install anything ?? i have tried all the usb connections no luck and a new usb cable  also no luck, is this a driver problem or could my Desktop be missing a driver as i did a format and still nothing ??? i did install the 64 bit and 32 bit usb drivers on the desktop,nothing works any suggestions or feedback would be appreciated.

Have you done all your Windows updates?  Maybe the SES driver didn't load properly.  Also, you might look in Disk Management to see if the drive shows up there, even though it doesn't show up in Explorer.

Hi thanks for the reply all of the updates are done the ses driver shows up and the drive also appears in manegemant but no luck i have tried almost everything and i am to point where i think to possibly do a format maybe that will sort it out ?any other suggestions please.Uninstall and reinstall also did not fix the problem under manegement of usb devices or update of drivers the pc(Desktop) is fairly new so i am fresh out of ideas !
