Problem with WD Elements SE 500gb

I have my WD Elements SE500gb for 2 to 3 years for now but one day it happens to become unrecognizable by my PC. I see in this forum that i should download WD Quick Formatter so i do it but I wait so long but it cant says it cannot complete the format. After doing this, I can see it my computer but it cant be format again. I am not interested in the files in it. I only want to format it and use it again. Can someone help me with my problem?

Re: Problem with WD Elements SE 500gb

You can try writing zeroes to it, then reformat it.

How to low level format or write zeros (full erase) to a WD hard drive or Solid State drive

How to partition and format a WD drive on Windows (7, Vista, XP) and Mac OSX

Sir my problem now is that my external hard drive can't be detected by my computer. I am sure that the usb cable is working and I plugged it correctly on my computer.
