WD 1 TB USB 2 External Hard drive

I connected  a WD 1 TB USB 2 Desktop External Hard Drive to my computer. When I try to open the drive, I get a message telling me to insert a disc. There is no slot for a disc in this hardware. I assume that there is missing software to make the drive functional. I purchased the hardware from Amazon.com, and no software was included. What software do I need? Thanks and all best. Hello, Can you post a screenshot of the error. It seems to me you are clicking in the wrong place....
