WD elements External 2TB hard drive - does not seem to work

[ Edited ]

Hi, was just wondering if anyone has a solution to my problem. When i plug in my WD elements External 2TB hard drive the LED at the front flashes once, then the light appears to turn off however if i look very closely i notice a very dim LED is on. The Hard disk isnt appearing on my computer. I also dont hear any sounds from my hard disk (assuming i am supposed to hear something?) When i connect this to my PS3 it dosent show up on that either (it worked before on the PC and PS3 for many weeks.) Also I dont have another spare power cable that i could use. Thanks for reading.

Well mate, you need to get another cable and also test your drive using a different computer, that's the basic 101 troubleshooting.

Also can i just ask, is it normal behaviour for the LED to flash once on the Drive - as i explained in my first post? Probblem is that since i brought my drive ive never paid much attention to it to see what it does.
