DIMENSION 8300 X SECOND HD "WD CAVIAR BLUE 500GB"

Hi, Help me.

I have a computer dell dimenson 8300, with one hd of 120gb. I bought new hd to be used as second hd, but the PC I did not recognize new WD CAVIAR BLUE 500GB. My bios is A07.

I do F2

I used Ff2 and made the following alteration.

In Drive Configuration

SATA Primary Drive .............................Hard Drive

SATA Secondary Drive ............................AUTO

But when restarting it appears the error

Two bips and, Erros auto-sensing secondary hard disk drive0.....Strike the F1 Key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility.

I do F1 and.... Blue screen

A problem has been....

It's possible that it's trying to boot from the new hard drive that you just installed. If you go into the Dell BIOS (pressing F2 I guess), you should be able to choose your original hard drive as the primary boot device.

Another possible issue is that you may need to set one of the drives as primary, but I think with SATA drives that's not as important.

By the way, you may also consider posting on Dell's forums, as this is more likely relating to Dell's BIOS set up (en.community.dell.com/forums/).
