I bought a 3TB WD-CAVIAR GREEN HD that only shows 750 GB under Windows XP & Vista

I bought  recently a 3TB WD-CAVIAR GREEN SATA HD and wanted  to make two partitions ca.1,5TB each in Windows XP and Windows Vista (32) .

In the beginning it was formated as a 750 GB disk in one partition only.

After that, even if I used partitionig Programs and/or the Windows tools and used it as a secondary Hard Drive, it was impossible to change this capacity.

All programs that I used,  they just see the disk as having a 750 GB capacity.

I even tried the WD tools bus the problem still remains. I erased the partition and tried to start all over again from the beginning but nothing changed.

My systems (both XP & Vista) they only see a 750 GB disk.

The disk is a WD30EZRSDTL model.

Try initializind the hard drive, but instead of using MBR, use GPT.

I tried the instructions of the link, but the problem still remains.

It recognized  the disk with a 750 GB capacity and not the actual 3 TB.

There was no GPT option to choose in the menu listed for Initialization.

So there is still a  more than 2TB space useless on the drive.
