Trying to find the manufacture date on a Western Digital SiliconEdge Blue 256GB

Hello,

I am trying to fix the warranty date on my Western Digital SiliconEdge Blue 256GB drive as after registering it, the site says the warranty expired in Dec. of 2010, but that doesn't seem possible since the drive only came out that Spring.

I am about giving up on getting the proof of purchase to update from date of purchase and am now simply trying to get the manufacture date correct on the registration, but I'm not sure where to find out the correct manufacture date on the device.

There is Mfg Dat 10/13, but that implies to me October 2013 which doesn't make sense as a manufacture date.

Does anyone know where to find that date either on this drive or WD internal drives in general?

The manufacture date on the label appears to be in YYWW (Year / Week) format. Therefore your drive appears to have been manufactured during week 13 of 2010.

Below are some images that show date codes on the label (10/8), as well as YYWW date codes on the ICs (0945 0943 0930). The IC dates are all in late 2009. There is also a date code of 46-09 printed on one of the boards. That's in WW-YY format.
