Unable to upgrade my Toshiba SR-15 (2004) Tablet PC with the 320GB Scorpio Blue

I like the SR-15 with its big screen for viewing material.  I upgraded it to Windows XP-Pro 3 years ago.

Recently I began to created dual boot Windows & Ubuntu with my PC's.  Bought this 320 GB drive to 

upgrade the SR-15.  But ran into all kinds of issues.   I have been able to 'successfully' install Windows 7

and Ubuntu versions, but none would be bootable, with Grub error 18.  

Tried to re-install Windows 2000, XP, and Win7-upgrade, but the installer could not recognize the drive, and

ask to load 'driver', even with the 4 SES drivers burned into a CD! 

Does any have a solution?

Does the Bios see the drive? Did you confirm if your computer supports the 320 GB drive?

You can also confirm if the drive is free of defects by running a diagnostic to it.
