WD 1TB green will not show up in "my computer" need help

I have just purchased a Manhattan dock with a green WD 1TB sata drive.  I get the messae "there was a problem installing the device".  When I got to MY COMPUTER the device is not listed.   I am using an USB connection and have tried the ports on the back and front of the desktop.  I have also tried it on two laptops when very new.  No go.  Any help appreciated.

 

I also have tried driver update programs but they have been no help on this particular device.

 

windows xp 32 bit

So........It could be the dock....have you try using the drive with another dock or perhaps installing the drive in your computer....
