WD RE4 Firmware update ???

[ Edited ]

Hello all,

Another thread for talking about RE4.

Read this please:

http://community.wdc.com/t5/Other-Internal-Drives/RE4-WD5003ABYX-Drives-dropping-from-RAID-with-Adap...

They are talking about firmware version 01.01S02. All my RE4 (WD2503ABYX-01WERA0 and WD5003ABYX-01WERA0) have 01.01S01

"Your disk model is at firmware revision 01.01S02"

Is somebody know anything about firmware update of RE4 ?

On the wdc website there is nothing in RE4 download section.

Thanks !

Re: WD RE4 Firmware update ???

Hi dude, WD doesn't have any public firmware update for most internal drives so you'll have to call them...

Re: WD RE4 Firmware update ???

Hi all,

WD support is not able to help me.

Does somebody know something about firmware 01.01S02 ???

My RE4 have 01.01S01 and i would like to know what 01.01.S02 is changing.

I have a lot of RE4 and with Linux i have raw_read_error. This is certainly a firmware issue.

Windows seems to use a very little ahci driver, this is why the bug happen only on Linux.

Thanks :smileywink:
