Blue Ring World Book - need access, don't have a Windows XP computer anymore

I have a 1TB Blue Ring World book on which is stored pretty much every digital file I have created since high school. I no longer have a Windows XP computer and according to WD that means I can't access those files. Has anyone else had this problem? If I crack open the case can I plug the drive straight in to my computer? Anyone come up with a workaround?

If you dont have a XP what do you have now? That drive is not compatible with win 7.
