DO NOT UPDATE 1.02.10 FIRMWARE

Mine is also now unusable. Can keep it alive if it is constantly active, but sometimes drops off anyway. I only have it less than 6 months so should still be still under warranty. I find it atrocious that WD are taking so long to issue a fix. If they gave an estimated fix date I could put up with a wait, but it has already been 3 weeks. There is not even a mail list so I can be notified when updated, so I have to check in each day and check.

If I don't hear soon, I will have no choice but to return to point of sale for a refund and buy a product that works from a competitor! I'm sure I am not alone in this. WD needs to get their act together.

This is a web based upgrade solution. It is a fake image to downgrade from 01.02.10 to 01.02.05, constucted from the 01.02.05 firmware posted earlier here.

This worked for me.

then
READ THE README

Not that i've heard of.... but it's still early.... i'm gonna wait a day or so before upgrading just to be sure.....
