Problemas al reproducir AVI desde unidades compartida

Cuando intento reproducir ficheros con contenedor AVI que tienen 2 o más pistas de audio desde una unidad compartida (SAMBA) vía WIFI el sonido se corta y el vídeo se reproduce con lentitud y saltos.
* Solo sucede con contenedores AVI que tengan 2 o más pistas de audio.
* Solo sucede al reproducir en streaming desde una unidad compartida vía WIFI.
- El problema no esta relacionado con el formato/codec de las pistas de audio o vídeo dado que el mismo fichero se reproduce perfectamente desde un pendrive USB.
- El problema no es la limitación de ancho de banda del protocolo SAMBA o una mala configuración de la red inalámbrica dado que ficheros MKV en alta definición, bitrate mucho más elevado y varias pistas de audio se reproducen perfectamente vía WIFI.
- El problema no es la versión del firmware dado que todas las versiones del firmware tienen el problema (las he probado), incluso la más reciente 1.09.10 tiene el problema.
- Adicionalmente, si uso "Avidemux" (o cualquier otro software de manipulación AVI) para eliminar las pistas adicionales el fichero se reproduce sin problemas.
Espero que esta información pueda ser de utilidad, dado que en mi opinión considero que se trata de un problema muy importante.

- WD TV Live (Gen3)
- Model number: WDBGXT0000NBK
- Serial number: [ removed ]
- Firmware version: 1.09.10
- Haciendo Streaming desde: D-Link Boxee Box SMB Shared point (Linux O.S. ?). Mismo problema desde una carpeta compartida con Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit en mi PC de escritorio.

Me parece muy interesante. Podrias dar información acerca de los codecs utilizados en tus archivos AVI? Asi otros usuarios podriamos hacer la prueba y ver si el problema puede ser replicado.
Te pasa lo mismo si accedes a los videos a través de Media Server?

Por otro lado, compartiendo los ficheros mediante un mediaserver vía WIFI funcionan perfectamente, pero no estoy interesado en usar un mediaserver porque mi biblioteca multimedia reside en un Boxee Box y quiero que siga allí (a parte de los problemas que podrían surgir con codecs, formatos exóticos y demás).
No he probado el caso de acceder a los contenidos vía ethernet con cable directamente, principalmente porque ni lo deseo ni me es posible pero si que he visto en los foros que otras personas con el mismo problema reproducen los ficheros perfectamente vía ethernet.
Esto último me hace pensar que quizá el problema es por algún tipo de bug en la implementación SAMBA que hace que se sobresature el canal de transmisión, imagino que vía ethernet se reproduce correctamente porque al ser el ancho de banda muy superior consigue superar el problema de saturación pero con conexiones inalámbricas de menor ancho de banda el cuello de botella es perceptible.
En cualquier caso, recalco, no es un problema de mala configuración de la red WIFI. Otros ficheros con contenido en alta resolución y bitrate muy elevado (contenedor mkv) se reproducen correctamente.
Llegados a este punto hasta he pensado que la unidad esté estropeada (un problema de este tipo debería ser algo como para ver 10 mensajes en la primera página de todos los foros), pero me extraña que un error del aparato se limite a un caso tan concreto de uso.

Hice la prueba y me sucede lo mismo con archivos Avi, al parecer es una limitación del equipo. Te recomiendo que lo postees como un posible issue en el foro en inglés: http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-TV-Live-Streaming-I

por cierto, he probado con el último firmware que han liberado ¿hoy? 1.10.13 y el problema persiste.

Que tal amigos, me gustaría agregar un dato más al asunto, pues a mí si bien me sudcede lo mismo, además, si en red compartida se tienen dos equipos wd y uno de ellos con un disco duro, el otro wd, sólo lee normalmente los archivos mkv, los avi, incluso con una pista de audio, los lee como se describe en el post.
Hubo solución al respecto?
