Support for multiple image folders under DCIM

My HTC Desire HD has just been updated to Android 2.3.5.  As a result of this update, my camera shots are now being saved to /mnt/sdcard/DCIM/120MEDIA instead of the previous folder of /mnt/sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA.  This is not a problem as far as my phone is concerned, as it simply displays the contents of all folders under DCIM when I look in the Gallery.  Unfortunately, my WD Photos mobile app will not show the 120MEDIA album when I try to upload images to my MyBook Live.  The app is set up correctly and properly activated, and I can upload my older images from 100MEDIA with no problem, but it will simply not show the presence of any other folder under DCIM.

Is there any technical reason why the app cannot display multiple albums under the main DCIM folder and allow uploading from all of them?

I hope this will be somthing that can be considered as a possible fix in a future update.
