Lets say there's a case:

-  i copied a wrong file from a USB drive into my Laptop.. then i delete it

or

- i downloaded a wrong file into my download folder.. then i also delete it

but,

amazingly WD SmartWare Backup has finished copying a backup file for those file in my WD My Book Studio (running in background)

but, what if i dont want those wrong file(s) to be backed up? or maybe in other users cases it will create unwanted duplicate files inside My Book Studio.. then it will save more space on our backup drive

So, i think it would be great if SmartWare Backup creates / show a delete confirmation when we delete a certain file(s).

"There is a backup file created with this entry. Would you like to delete it also?"

"Would you like to delete On your computer or include backup file?" "Choose: On My Computer or Both"

This feature requires advance user settings, just to prevent user to accidentally delete both.. well, as long as we do not Empty Trash or Empty Recycle Bin :smileytongue:

Hope this would be usefull for WD user experience

Smartware is designed to be a continuous backup program, but you have the option to explore the backup folder (Smartware.swstor) and delete any file.

smartware unlock glitch

The locking scheme of smartware is superb, which prevents unauthorized access to hd. However, when you explore WD Unlocker (with cd-rom icon), which anyone can access without unlocking, there is a file to quick format the hd . The result is that anyone with no authorizationcan can format my hd, which was, sadly, done by my little brother when he was not able to access the hd. We would like WD to modify and update smartware to meet this flaw.

Android app for protected HDD

I have a WD Passport that I can't open in my new Android based tablet.

I plan to use my Android Tablet for personal and professional work and thus I can't have a DRIVE that anyone can read from it wthout a password

I need a application that allows to access my encrypted information stored in the WD Passport drive.

I want to retain the funtionality of having a password to access hiden drive but there isn't any application today that mounts the hidden drive that works with WD.

This lack of support from WD seriously undermines the fragile trust I have on WD products, so I would realy want to see a commitment from WD on supporting other OS like android, Linux and IOS.

It would be awesome if we could "Skin" SmartWare to give it a custom look. Right now the color scheme really clashes with the rest of my programs.
