please allow the cx to download aplications from the main page withouth having to go trough the registration process makes our job harder and aht longer

The WD Software processes should not automatically start up when you log on.  The software should only start up when you attach the drive and completely shut down when you remove the drive.  I hate seeing the icon in system notification area on task bar when the drive is not connected.

WD Should make a cellphone to compete with the Apple iPod. With WD's great track record of making reliable and user-friendly products this is a no-brainer to me. What does everyone else think?

Please give your customers the ability to remove Smartware and the VCD and reclaim the extra space and give us a small application to keep password protection and the ability to change the display screen on My Book Elite.

This is the best idea about an option to record the streaming movies from netflix or hulu plus and save it in the connected external hard drive so i can watch later .in mkv or avi format.

Java runtime so that Android apps that use the Dalvik VM can be easliy ported. Developers can "repackage" their apps, replacing the Java-to-Dalvik conversion with a Java-to-COD packaging.

Some sort of app player with on device app store would certianly bring a new demention to the devices.

I posted a community forum item several weeks ago now (http://community.wdc.com/t5/My-Book-World-Edition/My-Book-World-Edition-to-Passport-Backup/m-p/30993...) relating to the backup solutions provided by WD, specifically concerning my World Edition 1TB NAS and a 500GB elements passport drive.

It seems that WD don't provide a means of differential or incremental backup.  The support team and one of the WD community members suggested copying and pasting or using the copy functionality (essentially copy and paste) which comes with the installed software on the NAS drive.  Given that amount of media and other sundry items we like to keep on our drives now, which is usually well into the GB's, the copy/paste solution seems a bit silly as we either have to do a blanket copy or spend a great deal of  time selectively copying and pasting.  Given the amount of time it would take (and did take) to backup data in the amounts we are commonly dealing with now it would seem like a pretty good idea to WD to start packaging a means to do this!?

It would be awesome if we could "Skin" SmartWare to give it a custom look. Right now the color scheme really clashes with the rest of my programs.
