Suggest to either integrate this forum or provide another support/feature suggestion channels via the mobile In-App function.
A good example of such is the Micorosft Outlook app, which provides such functionality for contact support, suggest a feature. Instead of someone giving the WD mobile apps with a 1 star compliant and hoping the support person to get back to them (which never happens anyway based on my observation)
Am from SuperSync and this post comes in as a request from a bunch of our users who use WD NAS.
SuperSync is an iTunes music management software and it simplifies iTunes music management across home/office networks - helping users to sync /manage libraries between multiple computers as well as their NAS systems.
Currently, SuperSync integrates with Synology, QNAP and a couple of other NAS systems in the market.
However, recently, there has been an inflow of requests from current SuperSync users to have it integrated with WD NAS.
Hence wanted to reach out to the WD team and community here to seek help regarding the same. We are ready to provide support to the integration and testing. More info on SS can be found from here: www.supersync.com
Please do let me know if any further information is required. It would be a pleasure to be associated and integrated with WD NAS.
it would be cool if the NAS EX4 had an app that would auto-download uploaded pics from selected FaceBook friend's photos and albums..
I have lots of family members who post pictures to their profiles and create family albums of their events. It would be great if I can capture all of those pictures so that we can have a central repository family eventful pictures.
Why can't I integrate My Cloud with Office 2013, as I can with DropBox? Saving word docs, excel. and powerpoint on my local drive and dragging them to My Cloud seems counter-productive. I would like to have the option of saving them directly to My Cloud without the save to my local drive.
i tried to copy and past files from my NAS system to OneDrive using the app in my iPhone, nothing happened no notification appeared a folder was created but it was not imported in my OneDrive just showing in the app idling
Since Windows 10 came out with full Windows Universal app support, it would be good to see all WD apps on Windows platform.
With Universal App, WD can developp one single app that will work on regular Windows PC with Windows 10, Windows Mobile 10, Windows Tablets running Windows 10, Xbox, HoloLens, IoT... Far more potential than with any other OS.
I have installed WD SmartWare 2.4.11 on my computer and using My Passport Ultra as external target backup drive and I'd like to take a snapshot of the actual data on my computer from time to time. I am not interested in keeping a copy of the files I delete/move on the source computer.
With the actual v. 2.4.11 I have performed the first backup.
In a natural course of operations, I have created&deleted a few files, moved files and folders elsewhere, etc. and my aim is, if a fault happens on my computer's hard disk, to be able to restore the files as they were before the fault.
Unfortunately what I have noticed is that, if I select "retrieve all files" tab on smartware, all the deleted and moved files are being copied as well.
If I select "retrieve some files", I can see the deleted files/folders crossed-out or greyed out. This way I could select what files to retrieve (ie all the ones *not* greyed or crossed out) in order to restore the . But this is an endless process, as I should go through all the folders.
I understand there is no way to do that, so I am suggesting a new feature to SmartDrive.
I use the iOS My Cloud app (version 4.1.3) to browse photos on my WD My Cloud device.
The "View by Date" option is a great alternative to trying to navigate the folder structure on my device but I've found that "View by Date" is using the photo's timestamp which in many cases is inaccurate for various reasons such as file transfer software that does not preserve the orignal file timestamp when uploading from my computer or mobile device.
Instead, it should be using the EXIF field "DateTimeOriginal" which was inserted by the camera at the time of image capture. In the case where that field isn't available then fallback to the file's timestamp.
Nice simple one - can the Dropbox app be updated so that we can choose where the apps local mirror folder is located?
At the moment it seems to be fixed in the public folder (presumably as that will always exist), which works but of course it does mean that anyone who has local network access can see all the files/folders in your Dropbox account that you've got mirrored there. I'm guessing that not many people actually want that, although they may not realise it's what is currently the case.
For me it would be better if by default it ends up with its own share, which could then be made either public or private with controlled access as desired.
