Data Lifeguard Tool Diagnostics

Hi

 

I ran a diagnostic on my external hard drive and it came up with the following result

 

Test Option: QUICK TEST
Model Number: WDC WD2500JB-00REA0
Unit Serial Number: [deleted for privacy]
Firmware Number: 20.00K20
Capacity: 250.06 GB
SMART Status: PASS
Test Result: FAIL
Test Error Code: 06-Quick Test on drive 2 did not complete! Status code = 07 (Failed read test element), Failure Checkpoint = 65 (Error Log Test) SMART self-test did not complete on drive 2!
Test Time: 20:48:46, August 29, 2010

 

I have not lost any data yet and the chkdsk worked ok.

 

What is the best way forward.

Make sure your data gets backed up and then replace the drive.
