Erased Passport drive, now it won't backup my files.

I decided to erase My Passport Elite drive cause it was already full and wanted to make room for newer files to backup. After erasing to make room for the drive, I went and decided to back up my files now and now it won't backup the files. it shows as files not recognized under a yellow "!" sign so they weren't saved. Could anyone help me fix this? i really want to save my files.

If you erase the drive and keep the same backup plan it will become corrupted

 

Also, you might have erase the Smartware application from the drive.

 

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the software and if that does not work download the Smartware Installer
