My Passport Essential not recognized

Hi There

I have a My Passport Essential that was dropped recently.

The unit turns on and I can hear it spinning (no clicking sounds) but the drive is not recognized on the computer.

I tried wiggling around the cable.  It was recognized but as the driver was loading I got a message that the unit was disconnected.  Couldn't get it to work again.

Is this just a bad connection with the cable or the USB port in the unit?  I am hoping it is still recoverable.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: My Passport Essential not recognized

It's probably physically damaged and beyond do it yourself recovery. It doesn't take much of a bump to damage disks or heads.
