Hello, I've had a Mypassport essential 500gb for about ~3 years, been using it without any problems. Untill a few months ago. I've installed some Windows updates and it just didn't recognize it anymore, when I'd plug it in "Initio default controller" drivers would be installed.
I've no idea what the problem is, it works fine on any other computer, except mine. It worked fine on a clean install, untill I installed Windows updates. The cable isn't the problem, as it works fine on any other computer.
What's the problem, and is there even a fix for this?

all you have to do is firmware update the drive... i suggest backing up the files in that drive though.... there is a possibility that the drive will be formatted ![]()
