two problems

1. wdmfe is taking over my machine and I can't make the firmware download work to try new code. I am leaning toward doing my own backups on the passport

  a. help with stopping wdmfe from taking over my machine

  b. help with firmware download and updating software

2. If i decide to do my own backups

  a. how do i remove a password from the device?

  b. how is best way to clean off the device? Will del suffice?

1.have you tried stopping wdmfe on services.mcs? 2.to remove the password just enter random password five times then it will ask you to format your drive just click ok then you can now access your drive
