Can it be setup headless?

I like the features, but I was wondering if the box can be setup and run completely headless, or do I need to add space on a KVM for it?  I have a very small server closet and not much alternate workspace :smileyhappy:.

Re: Can it be setup headless?

This is completely head-less.

You can access it through the built-in administration (Connector) software or through Terminal Services.

Re: Can it be setup headless?

Without knowing the server name (since it was never set) do you have the units MAC address located on it so it can be located that way? Or does it come set to a static IP which may them be accessed?

There's an LCD display panel on the front of the unit which provides the server name and the IP address.

HTH!

Re: Can it be setup headless?

If you do not have a router laying around to borrow for setup, you can use a PC set to dhcp and  connect it directly to the box.  Turn both on and they will get the funky ip's and can talk to each other. Go through the setup wizzard, let it reboot and finish.  Then you can remote to the desktop and assign it an IP.
