Hi,
it is possible to backup only files from selected folder.
Let's say I am using Windows XP and my files (documents) are stored on disc E:\ in folder E:\documents (disc has more than one partition) and I want to backup only files from this foder (E:\documents) and synchronize them.
I cannot find any selection of the folder in WD SmartDribe backup area :-(
Thank you.

Sorry, but manual control is not possible. I am waiting on this too.

That is sad. I am also not using the Windows default location for my data files, which means that the WD Smartware software is rendered useless as Backup tool for my data. ![]()

I've just bought a 1TB my book essential and have the same question.
I send it to the WD technical support, so I'll write later if I get an answer.

| Dear federico, Thank you for contacting Western Digital Customer Service and Support. My name is Gustavo R. Unfortunately this drive does not perform selective backups, if you would like to backup only a few folders then I would recommend you to either do the backup manually by copying and pasting the folders in the drive or to download and use another backup software with these capabilities. Sincerely, Gustavo R. Western Digital Service and Support |
