quick view stated upgrade available,so i upgraded. now my mybook live is not recognized and is red lighting. was told hard drive is dead. have to pay for data retrieval but my  mybook is covered by warranty. any one else have same problem or a way to retreave my data?

As far as I know WD does not cover data recovery...However, you can contact WD by email just to verify....
