"Mode Not Supported" When using WD TV HD

When I power up my wd tv hd all I get on screen is a message saying "Mode Not Supported" This has come up before but usually goes once I switch the wd tv off and back on again but now it's on constantly. I tried moving the hdmi lead between ports but it keeps appearing. I have a samsung 32" hd ready lcd tv.

Is it the TV that's putting the message up on the screen or the WD TV player?
