Is it possible that HDMI audio out to be different than the Optical audio out?

For example like this:

HDMI audio = Stereo and Optical audio = digital audio stream

HDMI audio = digital pass-through and Optical audio = Stereo

I too encounter that as well.  Often, it drops the resolution from 1080p-60hz to 720i-50hz on start up.  I found that when the TV is already powered up and input set to HDMI, it works better.

Actually, this bug is in 1.04.22 also - but with 1.04.22 the AUTO worked better for me (set to 1080p-60Hz ) whereas, with 1.04.31, the AUTO sets it to 1080i-50hz.  On both, often if I am not at HDMI and ready, it will power up at 720i-50hz.

I HAVE MEDIA center movies (windows7 ) on my computer's hard drive .I play them on a TV in another room

that is fed by a wifi connected wd tv live plus.

The movies play well but after 15 sec the sound stops.I use an hdmi cable

any help is appeciated

Have three WDTV boxes and have upgraded to all the betas and stable releases without any major problems.

My only minor problem is navigating in Netflix. My Harmony remote skips 2-3 thumbnails with every press. I pulled out the WDTV remote and it does the same, skips 2-3 with every press. Can work around it, but it's a little bit of a pain.

DIVX/AVI, audio, subtitles, ISOs, and MKVs all seem to be fine on my boxes.

Thanks but I I am using firmware version 1.04.31_B for WD TV LIVE PLUS and the sound still shuts off after 15 sec .any other  suggestions ? thanks

An update to my post about skipping thumbnails in Netflix.

I finally broke down and decided to reprogram my Harmony remote. All it took was clicking Troubleshoot, and changing the repeat command setting from 3 to 1.  That was it. Now Netflix works great.

My WD TV Live Plus repeat setting in my Harmony remote was already put to 1, but in the Netflix client I have to be careful not to press too long on the button because it may skip over one thumbnail.
