Sorry...  Your only choices are to use direct USB, as Network Shares doesn't do that.  You might also be able to use a Media Server, if the server offers that function....

Likely. The boxes are 99.9% identical and the firmware does contain Netflix.

Even if the firmware was 99.9% identical there is 0.1% which is not. This means that the firmwares are not compatible.
