To aid in debugging this issue, can anyone experiencing HDMI issues please report the following:

1. TV make and model

2. What HDMI setting you're using - Auto or a specific resolution/refresh rate

Your help is appreciated.

1. Philips LCD 32PFL5404H

2. Video Output: HDMI(Auto)

Another question for those of you with HDMI issues in the beta firmware: Have you tried unplugging the HDMI cable and plugging it back in, or unplugging the WDTV's power cable and plugging it back in? Was there any improvement?

No this did not help either, I tried several times plugging and unplugging the HDMI cable, but removing the power cable and re-inserting it did work, but the HDMI settings revert back to AUTO, even after setting them to 720P 60HZ.

We NEED forced HDMI settings back. My SharpVision XV-Z2000 projector Does not support 1080P, It does support 720P, and this is routed through a yamaha RX-V3800 receiver using HDMI in and out to a DVI-HDMI adapter.

1.03.22 worked fine and kept the settings.

I thought the wdtv live was broken, Hell all you have to do is power it down, or even when powered on, and

using a different device like satellite or whatever, then switching back to the WDTV live, No signal. and then

the Blue screen from No input signal is being shown by the projector.

My Second WDTVLive is connected to a Samsung HL-T5087S and does support 1080P, and does not

exhibit the above behavier. However, even when you Force HDMI settings, it always reverts back to AUTO.

I updated from 1.02.21 to 1.03.38V with a Sharp LC26SA1E (1080i 60hz).

Before there was no noticeable difference between 8-bit and 12-bit HDMI mode.

The beta however didn't start in HDMI mode but in composite mode. After adding extra cables the player would not even let me change to HDMI (not supported). Only after pressing the reset button I could set to HDMI(auto) 8-bit.

After recovering from standby mode the same problem started all over!

The Mediafly option can be nice addition once the player would just PLAY the streams. All looks like expected but the play time shows 0.00.00.

I rather would add myself the RSS feeds to a more basic program. What is the use of all the overhead when the webservice in the US does not respond or is way too slow for European use.

Also I can confirm DVD menu works with ISO but not with the TS_VIDEO folders.

PS. I'll revert to the last stable asap.

Are you sure you reviewed the same setup as me?

No matter I press OK or play, with or without the TS folders I get this error:

"Unable to play the selected file. Please see the User Manual for a list of supported file formats."

When I press play, the DVD will play, but without the menus!

So do you really think the IFO format is supported yet?

It certainly is, and has been since the first Beta.

but not if you spell them TS_VIDEO, as in your above post.  :smileywink:

All VOBs, BUPs and IFOs MUST be INSIDE a folder called VIDEO_TS.  One move per folder.

Or, like you've already tried, in a single ISO instead.

Perhaps this is true for a setup with "Local Drives" like the WDTV Mini, but I bought a player with network functionality and want to use it like it's mend to be used; over NFS with DLNA-server for the Media Library is still beta and until full network support I'll use CIFS for I need the subtitles!

(Anyway I could live without the DVD menus. I just wanted to post a positive note about the menus for ISO files.

Believe me, I rather see more important issues fixed like the HDMI, NFS and Media Library problems.)

After Updating from 1.03.35 to 1.03.38_V the HDMI Cable is Not Working at all I have to work with the composite cable... I tried everything Auto, 12-bit, 8-bit everything but still Not Working. I have a Sony HDMI cable on Full HD Sony Bravia S series!

I can't use the device with the composite as the picture is Horrible! :smileysad:

Hope it fixed on upcoming firmware...

Try resetting the device with the button next to the USB.

Marcel-X;

DVD menus are fully supported whether they be on Local media OR on Network Shares.   DVD menus do NOT work (nor will they EVER) via Media Servers for the WDTV (nor ANY OTHER DLNA appliance, for that matter.)
