wd tv live hd media player

hello ....just got my new player and with first look i was very glad for this........but now  when i changed the video format from 1080i to 1080 p it all went dark.....and this is because of my tv do not support 1080 p ,but it support 1080i ......so can somebody plz help me ...and tell me how to change back?

Yes, if your TV does not support 1080p, you should not try to set the video output to 1080p!

 

You can try:  Unplug the power for a few seconds, then re-attach.

If that doesn't work, turn it on and wait 2 minutes.   Then press the RESET button (next to the USB port) with a paperclip for a few seconds.  That will restore back to default configuration.

 

If THAT doesn't work, then attach it via composite or component cables and then change the configuration.

You should unplug the power (remove cable) for a while, say 5 minutes or so. Then (due to a bug!) it should revert to 720p, which you should be able to see. A few seconds of cable removal is not enough.
