New Release - Firmware Version 3.01.19 for WD TV Live Hub (12/20/11)

After I play one video no matter what type (all locally stored on the hub) it requires a reboot or power cycle to play another.  AKA the little Arrow just goes Round and Round forever.  I do like the "get info" works great and is simple providing Thumbs Synopsis and other info.

I found this for installing previous versions of firmware ...  downgrading firmware   and will downgrade to 3.0.28 than try and reinstall the latest

All seems to work fine with 3.0.28 I will stay with that for a while

spoke to soon played 5 different files than went back to the ever spinning arrow.  will try and go back to 3.1.19 and see what happens

After the latest update (Firmware Version 3.01.19 ) i can still not playin some of my TS video formats with PCM sound

I installed firmware version 2.08.13 and now everything is fine.

I hope you can fix this problem with the next update.

Hey WDC Community,

This is my first post as I have just purchased a WD TV Live Hub to replace my lousy PS3 Media Server Capabilities.

The unit came with firmware 2.01.05, and is asking me to update to 2.08.13, however, I have heard of many issues with that verison firmware, and was wondering if I should just skip up to the latest verison.

My concern is this, I have just transfered over 500gb of data to the WD TV Live Hub, and im worried if I update my firmware, I might loose this data?

Additionally, I have no known issues right now running 2.01.05, except for the fact I cant utilize the smartphone remote app and faster scrolling menus, however, I am a liltte concerned about performance with the latest firmware?

Any ideas of what I can or should do?

Hey WDC Community,

I went ahead with the firmware update via usb drive, after some further reading, and all seems to work great, so far!

Speed up the system, transfers, remote app confirmed working, all my files/services seem to be working.

I have no done any artwork addition to my media library, so I cant speak in terms of that aspect of the firmware, but everything else seems to be good.

I dont play to many .iso's either  mainly mkv, 1080, avi, vob, 3D 1080 mkv's, etc...

Will keep updated..

Success! That's always good to hear about.

I never do any updates over the internet connection to the Hub. I feel better when it's done, as you did, off a local device.

I always do a full reset before and after a FW update. It's a pain to have to set it up again but so far I've not had most of the problems with my hub that others have.

When I have a lot of files to move to it I just bring it to the PC and connect via cat5 from the PC to the Hub, no router to go through and fast transfer. I make all the covers and backdrops and data files on the PC before I transfer it ALL to the Hub. Thumbgen is what I use and trying to do this on the Hub over the network takes a LOT longer than doing it on the PC first.

Been reading some mixed reactions to the latest firmware update and wondering if it is worth upgrading to it. Right now I am currently using 2.0.17. One of the reasons I have not is because I am using the Ohagi theme and really like it but would hate to lose the theme. Any input would be appreciated
